I’ve chased after people to find they don’t want me. Got drunk and said things that have come back to haunt me. I’ve gone to bed thinking I’ve won, got up and I’ve lost.

I’ve travelled for miles up a road that’s gone nowhere and visited places when folk said ‘Don’t go there’. I’ve squandered time foolishly with never a thought for the cost.

I’ve let go of good friends along the way. Walked from some places I wish I had stayed. Acquired some vices I probably shouldn’t have got.

I’ve kept closed some doors that I should have flung open and taken some liberties that were not worth the taking. I’ve run from troubles I should have squared up to and fought.

If I could make one more mistake to prove this life wasn’t in vain. Let me make, one more mistake and I’ll do it all over again.

We’ve stayed up all night when we should have been sleeping and opened the wine we said we were keeping to gaze at the moon and the stars in our eyes and the rest.

We’ve lost all our money and thrown away chances but stayed on the floor for a couple more dances. Your eyes and your hips promise me this is the best.

If I could make one more mistake that would prove to you this love wasn’t in vain. Let me make, one last mistake and I’ll do it all over again.
